Agricultural trade fairs focus on production and sovereignty in Algeria and Morocco

The 20th edition of the Fig and Local Products Fair is being held in Beni Maouche, Béjaïa, bringing together nearly 300 exhibitors from 12 Algerian provinces. Organized by the Béjaïa Fig Growers Association, the event serves as a national market aimed at promoting the fig industry, facilitating exchanges between producers and researchers, and exploring international market opportunities.

In Morocco, the 9th International Exhibition of Packaging, Machinery, and Agri-food (SIEMA 2026) is taking place in Casablanca. Under the theme ‘Cap Agro 2030,’ the event focuses on food sovereignty, water resilience, and industrial competitiveness. Discussions emphasize the importance of food safety, traceability, and digitalizing sanitary procedures to meet international export standards.
