Agricultural training initiatives in Colombia and Chile promote sustainable farming practices

In Pasto, Colombia, about 68 farmers attended a two‑day training on crop‑protection product handling organized by the municipal Agriculture Secretariat together with the local business chamber ANDI. Participants received practical and theoretical instruction on responsible pesticide use, environmental safety and resource efficiency, and received certification for completing the course.

In Quillota, Chile, students from the Liceo Agrícola took part in a hands‑on workshop on soil biology and agroecology led by professionals from Centro Ceres. The program included field tests of soil biota, discussions of sustainable soil management and the role of living soil, and highlighted the importance of integrating agroecological principles into agricultural education.
