Agricultural updates in Soria and Ciudad Real
In Soria, the agricultural organization ASAJA has welcomed a decision by the regional government to extend flexibility regarding biodiversity land requirements. The measure allows farmers to harvest 'pajarillos' plots—areas set aside for bird feed—earlier, starting August 15 for winter herbaceous crops, cereals, and proteinaceous crops. This extension applies to the entire province to accommodate an advanced harvest season.
In Ciudad Real, the CCOO union has launched an information campaign for workers participating in the grape harvest. The initiative aims to educate laborers on their rights and the provincial agricultural collective agreement, specifically highlighting a daily wage of 76.64 euros for an 8-hour shift. CCOO also emphasized the importance of the recent regularization process, noting that foreign residents constitute 40.5% of the agricultural workforce in the province.
