Agricultural yields in Vysočina region face significant declines

Agricultural estimates for the Vysočina region as of late September 2026 indicate a substantial year-on-year decrease in crop yields due to weather conditions. Total cereal production is expected to drop by approximately 15%, while potato harvests are projected to decline by 26%.

Specific crop declines include a 21% drop in rapeseed and significant reductions in oats and grain corn, which are expected to fall by over 53%. While spring wheat and tritikale show increases due to larger planting areas, winter wheat and barley are seeing notable decreases. The current cereal harvest levels are described as below average compared to the previous ten-year period.

In contrast to these regional declines, some individual operations are finding success through specific management techniques. For example, the Zemědělské družstvo Všestary in the Hradec Králové region reported a winter rapeseed yield of 4.69 t/ha. This success is attributed to precise agrotechnical timing, strip-till technology, and innovative plant protection methods designed to manage soil moisture and plant health.
