Agriculture Minister: Fuel scarcity will not disrupt South Sulawesi food distribution

Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman has stated that the current fuel scarcity will not significantly impact the distribution of food commodities in South Sulawesi. During a visit to a Perum Bulog warehouse in Makassar, Sulaiman noted that agricultural commodities occupy strategic locations, which mitigates the impact of fuel shortages on their movement.

South Sulawesi serves as a major national food production center, producing key commodities such as rice, corn, and various horticultural products. The government is prioritizing the smooth flow of goods from production centers to markets and consumer regions to maintain food availability and price stability. Sulaiman emphasized that the government continues to monitor the agricultural sector from production through distribution to ensure supply remains steady despite existing challenges.
