Agrigento: Basilio Vella calls for dissolution of municipal administration

Basilio Vella, a former regional deputy, has called for the dismissal of the current municipal administration in Agrigento. Vella described the city's political and administrative situation as being ‘beyond the limits of what is bearable,’ citing political deadlock and unresolved emergencies.

Vella has formally requested that Mayor Michele Sodano dissolve the current Giunta and initiate a new dialogue involving all local political forces, professional experts, and representatives from the productive sector. He emphasized that the city requires an emergency program focused on specific priorities such as public services, infrastructure, territory management, and economic development, rather than a simple reshuffling of existing roles.
