Agrigento health authority sued over two pregnancy losses
A couple has filed a lawsuit against the Provincial Health Authority (ASP) of Agrigento following two pregnancy losses that occurred at the San Giacomo d'Altopasso hospital in Licata in 2018. The plaintiffs are seeking damages for physical and moral harm, alleging medical errors during the assistance provided in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department.
The legal action involves a request for a preventive technical assessment to establish the responsibility of the health agency. While the couple seeks to quantify damages through expert testimony and potential conciliation, the ASP has conducted internal reviews of the clinical documentation and denied any responsibility on the part of its medical staff. The health authority intends to contest the claims in court.
