Agrigento healthcare commissioner begins emergency room inspections

Alessandro Delle Donne, the extraordinary commissioner of the ASP of Agrigento, has launched a monitoring initiative to evaluate emergency and urgent care services across hospitals in the province. The inspections began with visits to the emergency rooms in Agrigento and Sciacca, with plans to extend to all provincial hospital facilities.

The goal of these visits is to assess organizational structures, staffing levels, patient flows, and operational conditions to identify critical issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency and care quality. Delle Donne noted that the emergency-urgency area is a top priority, particularly given the complexities of staffing shortages.

In a separate meeting, Rosellina Marchetta met with Delle Donne to discuss the primary challenges facing the Agrigento healthcare system. The discussion focused on the needs of patients, families, and healthcare workers, emphasizing the importance of direct dialogue with the community to address local healthcare difficulties.
