Agrigento mayor and archbishop tackle social and water emergencies

Archbishop Alessandro Damiano met with Mayor Michele Sodano and local officials, including representatives of Caritas Diocesana, at the Mondoaltro centre to discuss the city’s social emergencies affecting vulnerable residents and to explore cooperation between the Church and municipal authorities.

The municipality also allocated its municipal water tank to the regional water authority AICA to help alleviate the ongoing water shortage, with the mayor criticizing AICA for unresolved works and calling for a meeting of mayors to seek a structural solution.
