Agrigento officials address cemetery emergency and space shortages

In Agrigento, local authorities are addressing a cemetery emergency characterized by a shortage of burial spaces. Councilor Riccobene reported that 34 coffins are currently awaiting definitive placement due to a lack of planning.

To resolve the crisis, the administration is implementing several measures, including the construction of 40 prefabricated niches and the digitalization of concession archives to replace outdated paper records. Additionally, municipal police will increase inspections to combat unauthorized construction and safety issues within private cemetery sites.
