Agrigento Poison Control Service assists Ragusa in drug intoxication emergency

The Poison Control Service of the Agrigento ASP provided emergency assistance to Ragusa following a severe drug intoxication incident. The patient had ingested a massive dose of medications, including valproic acid and trazodone.

Upon receiving the urgent request from the Ragusa ASP, the Agrigento service immediately activated procedures to locate and provide the necessary treatment. The emergency was managed by pharmacist Luisa Lombardo, who ensured the rapid availability of the required medication.

The intervention, coordinated through the Pharmacy Complex Unit at the San Giovanni di Dio Hospital, highlights the effectiveness of the regional healthcare network in managing toxicological emergencies through inter-provincial cooperation.
