Agrigento police increase inspections on foreign tenant reporting

The Agrigento Police Headquarters (Questura di Agrigento) has intensified inspections regarding the rental and transfer of properties to foreign citizens or stateless persons. DIGOS agents are conducting widespread checks to ensure compliance with public security regulations.

Under Article 7, paragraph 1 of Legislative Decree 286/1998, anyone providing accommodation to a foreign citizen must provide written notification to the Public Security Authority within 48 hours of handing over the property. Failure to report or late reporting can result in administrative fines ranging from 500 to 3,500 euros. Property owners may opt for a reduced payment of 1,000 euros if settled within 60 days of notification via the Agrigento Prefecture.
