Agrigento post office targeted in vandalism raid
The central post office in Agrigento, located in the historic Palazzo delle Poste in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, was targeted in a significant act of vandalism during the night. Upon arrival the following morning, employees discovered that unknown individuals had placed glue inside the door locks, preventing entry to the building.
The exterior of the historic building was also defaced with offensive drawings and various derogatory messages written in Arabic.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Digos and Polizia Scientifica, have arrived on the scene to conduct forensic investigations and collect evidence. Authorities are currently reviewing local surveillance footage to identify the perpetrators. The Agrigento Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the incident, which is being treated as a case against unknown persons. Investigators are exploring multiple motives, ranging from simple vandalism to more complex possibilities suggested by the foreign language inscriptions.
