Agrigento prosecutor charges man with road homicide after fatal accident

The Agrigento Public Prosecutor's Office has notified 75-year-old Angelo Fazio of a charge of road homicide following a fatal traffic accident in July 2025.

The incident occurred at the Spinasanta junction in Agrigento. Investigators determined that Fazio, driving a Volkswagen Golf, failed to yield the right of way when entering a provincial road, resulting in a violent collision with a scooter operated by 67-year-old Angelo D’Anna.

D’Anna, a former nurse from Raffadali, sustained critical injuries and died in the hospital 20 days after the collision. Fazio has 20 days to request an interrogation or submit defensive briefs before the prosecution decides whether to proceed with a trial.
