Agrigento student receives sustainability scholarship

Mattia Carapezza, a student at IISS Gallo-Sciascia in Agrigento, has been awarded a scholarship for his video project titled ‘The Value of Environmental Sustainability’. The award was presented during an educational event focused on ‘Economy and Environment’ organized by the school in collaboration with Banco di Credito Cooperativo (BCC) Agrigentino.

The scholarship initiative originated from a call for applications launched in June 2025 during the ‘Energy and Evolving Economy’ conference. The judging committee, consisting of Emanuela Alletto, Alberto Cutaia, and Ivano Midulla, evaluated numerous submissions from secondary school students.

BCC Agrigento President Angelo Vita stated that investing in the ecological awareness of younger generations is essential for long-term, environmentally respectful economic development. The bank has also introduced specific ‘green’ credit solutions for families and businesses as part of its commitment to environmental themes.
