Agrigento's Teatro dell'Efebo launches 'Il Vitalizio' for Pirandellian Week

The comedy “Il Vitalizio,” written by Andrea Camilleri and based on Luigi Pirandello’s novella, opened on Sunday 2 August at the Teatro dell’Efebo in Agrigento, marking the start of the city’s Pirandellian Week. The production, staged by the Associazione Città Teatro di Catania and directed by Giuseppe Romani with music by Carlo Muratori, features Angelo Tosto in the lead role of Marabito.

The event was organized by the Libero Consorzio Comunale di Agrigento, whose president Giuseppe Pendolino called the revival of the festival “one of the most important initiatives for cultural enrichment” after years of absence. Additional performances are scheduled for 12 August (“L’uomo, la bestia e la virtù,” directed by Augusto Zucchi) and 22 August (the Kaos “Pippo Montalbano” award).
