Agrinio hosts 21st International Traditional Dance Festival

The 21st International Traditional Dance Festival is set to take place in Agrinio from August 23 to August 27. The event features participants from twelve countries, including delegations from Armenia, France, Georgia, Spain, Croatia, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, Serbia, and Turkey.

The festivities begin on Sunday, August 23, with a Greek evening at Democracy Square, where local folk and dance groups will welcome international troupes. The official opening ceremony, featuring a parade of all participating groups, is scheduled for Monday, August 24.

Beyond the city center, the festival will extend to various communities within the Municipality of Agrinio, including Astakos and Menidi. The program also includes cultural excursions, such as a visit to Lake Trichonida, where traditional dances will be performed. The event concludes on Thursday, August 27, with a closing ceremony and parade.
