Agrinio hosts 21st International Traditional Dance Festival

The 21st International Traditional Dance Festival has commenced in Agrinio, Greece, featuring delegations from ten different countries. The event includes participants from Armenia, France, Georgia, Spain, Croatia, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, Serbia, and Turkey.

To mark the beginning of the festival, local dance groups held a Greek cultural evening in Democracy Square, performing traditional music and dances to welcome the international guests. Following this, Mayor Giorgos PapAnastasiou and Deputy Mayor of Culture Maria Papageorgiou officially welcomed the foreign delegations. During the reception, representatives from Turkey and Peru presented gifts to the participating groups, with the Peruvian delegation specifically presenting a handmade basket to the Mayor.

The festival program includes a parade through the city streets leading to Democracy Square, where the various international groups will showcase their unique cultural identities and traditional dance styles.
