Agrinio hosts Vesper service for Saint John of Vrachorion

Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aetolia and Acarnania presided over the Vesper service for the feast of Saint John of Vrachorion in Agrinio on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The service took place at the Saint John chapel, which stands at the site where the saint was martyred in 1814.

The ceremony included a litany procession to transport a relic of the saint from the Holy Temple of Saint Demetrios to the site of martyrdom. The service was attended by numerous priests from the Agrinio region and a large number of faithful. During the service, Metropolitan Damaskinos emphasized the universal nature of divine salvation, stating that no person should be undervalued regardless of race, religion, or national origin.
