Agrion Fertilizantes announces R$ 46 million investment in Minas Gerais

Agrion Fertilizantes is investing R$ 46 million to construct an organomineral fertilizer plant in Frutal, Minas Gerais, in partnership with Usina Cerradão. The facility is expected to be completed by June 2027, with an initial annual capacity of 70,000 tons and potential expansion to 205,000 tons. The plant will utilize sugarcane industry residues, such as filter cake and vinasse, alongside cattle confinement waste to manufacture fertilizers.

This project is part of Agrion’s expansion strategy, aiming to increase revenue from R$ 98 million in 2025 to R$ 600 million by 2028. The company is also developing an R$ 48 million factory in Ibirarema, São Paulo, in partnership with Usina Enersugar, scheduled for completion in February 2027. Agrion is currently evaluating financing options through the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) to support these and future investments.
