AGRIP project integrates drones and AI for precision agriculture
The AGRIP project is integrating drones, multispectral cameras, artificial intelligence, and 5G SA networks to advance precision agriculture. Developed in collaboration with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (ČZU), the technology aims to minimize the time between field imaging and data processing.
Using 5G SA networks, drones transmit large amounts of data to an Edge cloud where AI analyzes it in near real-time. This information is then converted into application commands for agricultural machinery. This allows farmers to target specific areas affected by disease, nutrient deficiency, or pests, rather than treating entire fields. This targeted approach is intended to reduce the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and water while lowering the environmental footprint and soil compaction.
