Agro Amazônia Boosts WhatsApp Sales with AI Agent

Agro Amazônia, a Brazilian distributor of agricultural inputs and a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, partnered with technology firm Zenvia to launch a Meta Business Agent‑powered AI assistant on WhatsApp. The bot acts as a virtual sales development representative, handling product discovery, support and checkout without redirecting users.

In its first week the solution raised active farmer conversations from 420 to over 1,400 and generated 15 high‑ticket qualified leads for the commercial team. Integration with ServiceNow enables real‑time technical ticket creation and follow‑up. Talassa Vieira, Agro Amazônia’s IT manager for Projects and Innovation, said the goal was “to be closer to the producer, offering support and guidance exactly when needed.” Gilsinei Hansen, Zenvia’s vice‑president of Business, added that the combination “turns AI agents from simple service channels into growth engines.”
