AgroMaramureș fair attracts 15,000 visitors in Romania

The inaugural AgroMaramureș fair took place on August 22 and 23, attracting over 15,000 visitors to the area between Mireșu Mare and Șomcuta Mare. The event featured livestock and machinery exhibitions, alongside showcases of traditional products and local cuisine.

During the fair, discussions focused on agricultural infrastructure, including a proposed fruit and vegetable collection center in Mireșu Mare. Local stakeholders also addressed the need for farm modernization and the challenges of a shortage of qualified personnel in the sector.

In conjunction with regional agricultural development, the 'Mireșu Mare Agricol Smart Cluster' was officially launched. This initiative, supported by the Mireșu Mare Town Hall and the Maramureș Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to create a modern agricultural ecosystem. The cluster seeks to connect public administration, the private sector, and research institutions to foster innovation in technology, digitalization, and sustainability.
