Agroo selected to represent Venezuela at digital agriculture summit

The Venezuelan startup Agroo has been selected to participate in the fifth edition of Digital Agriculture Week, held from September 7 to 10 in San José, Costa Rica. Organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), the event features 15 international startups chosen from nearly 300 applications across 23 nations.

Agroo, represented by technologist José Augusto Linárez Ferrer, is the sole Venezuelan company selected for the summit. The startup focuses on the digital transformation of agri-food systems, specifically through its 'Crediagro' financing platform. This tool allows agricultural producers to acquire equipment and supplies using flexible payment options through a national network of credit cards.

The IICA selection process prioritized the use of Artificial Intelligence and biological solutions designed to increase productivity, optimize commercial chains, and improve natural resource management. During the summit, the Venezuelan delegation aims to meet with investment funds and establish strategic alliances within the global agri-food ecosystem.
