Agropoli: 18-year-old arrested for attempted murder

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for the attempted murder of a peer in Agropoli, a city in the Cilento region of Salerno. The incident occurred on the evening of August 19 following a dispute reportedly triggered by trivial motives.

According to investigators, the suspect stabbed the victim in the chest before fleeing the scene. The victim was rushed to a local hospital and subsequently transferred to the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples, where he remains in critical condition under reserved prognosis.

Carabinieri officers identified and located the suspect at his residence. Investigations revealed that the attacker attempted to hide evidence by discarding the knife on a building roof and concealing the clothes he was wearing in a backpack. The weapon has been recovered and seized. Following the investigation, the judge for preliminary investigations at the Court of Vallo della Lucania granted the request for pretrial detention in prison.
