Agropoli homicide: Bullet recovered in security guard murder

Investigators in Agropoli have recovered a 7.65 caliber bullet from a white Ford B-Max, providing new leads in the murder of 55-year-old security guard Walter Avallone. The victim was found dead in his vehicle near the Trentova oasis on Tuesday, October 13.

Ballistics evidence suggests the fatal shot may have been fired by someone sitting in the passenger seat, as the projectile passed through the victim's neck from right to left before embedding in the driver-side door. While a blank pistol was found in the car, the actual murder weapon remains missing.

Authorities are also investigating the theft of two bags taken from the vehicle by the killer. Investigators have searched a B&B in Vibonati where Avallone had been staying, though no significant evidence has been found there yet. The investigation is being coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Vallo della Lucania.
