Agropoli murder investigation: security guard shot in car

Authorities are investigating the murder of 55-year-old Walter Avallone, a security guard from Eboli, who was found dead in his Ford B-Max in a parking lot near the Trentova bay in Agropoli.

Preliminary findings indicate Avallone was killed by a single gunshot to the throat. Investigators believe the victim and his assailant may have arrived at the location together following a violent argument. Surveillance footage from the area shows a suspect wearing dark clothing and a cap, which has partially obscured their face. The suspect was seen fleeing the scene on foot carrying two bags taken from the victim's vehicle.

The Carabinieri and forensic specialists from Salerno are currently analyzing video footage and examining the victim's recent professional and personal contacts to establish a motive. The murder weapon and the victim's mobile phone have not yet been recovered. The investigation is being coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office of Vallo della Lucania.
