Agroseguro pays over 35 million euros for wine grape damages

Agroseguro has paid out a cumulative total of 35.8 million euros in indemnities for damages to the 2026 wine grape harvest. A recent payment of 11.3 million euros has brought the total to approximately 70% of the 50 million euros projected for the vineyard sector.

This latest installment includes 8.7 million euros for late-production regions, primarily in Castilla y León, with 5.3 million euros allocated to Valladolid and 2.3 million euros to Burgos. Meanwhile, early-production regions like Castilla-La Mancha have seen cumulative payments reach 17.3 million euros.

The accelerated payment schedule is attributed to an advanced crop cycle caused by high temperatures during spring and summer. Most damages resulted from frosts in late March and early April, as well as a cold spell in mid-May. Other contributing factors included hail, drought, rain, flooding, and wind.
