Agrupación Naranja challenges AMP union leadership in Argentina
The Agrupación Naranja, also known as ‘Renovación Sindical Docente’, has launched a campaign to challenge the current leadership of the AMP union in La Rioja, Argentina. The new group aims to provide an alternative to the Agrupación Azul, the historical faction led by Rogelio De Leonardi.
Ariel Correa, the pro-secretary of the Interior of the AMP and a leader of the Agrupación Naranja, stated that the group intends to shift union policy toward direct representation within classrooms. The movement seeks to establish a leadership that is more present in schools to address the daily challenges faced by educators.
The group has received support from provincial delegates and includes José María Bustamante, a former member of the Celeste y Blanca list. Agrupación Naranja has also criticized the current administration, alleging maneuvers designed to obstruct democratic competition, such as the discretionary removal of delegates and irregularities in the formation of the Electoral Board.
