Agtech innovations presented at the 15th Brazilian Cotton Congress
At the 15th Brazilian Cotton Congress in Belo Horizonte, new technological solutions for cotton cultivation were introduced to improve productivity and sustainability.
John Deere presented its 400R series sprayer, featuring See & Spray™ technology. The machinery, which includes models 430R, 440R, and 400R DN, utilizes a new electronic architecture and engines ranging from 285 to 300 hp. Key features include the CommandDrive™ system for fuel savings, satellite internet connectivity via Starlink, and improved precision in steering and boom height control.
Additionally, the Brazilian company Eirene Industrial launched its “SaveFarm Cotton” artificial intelligence technology. This system uses computer vision and machine learning to identify weeds and cotton plant structures in real time via cameras mounted on sprayer booms. The technology processes images locally on the equipment, allowing it to function in rural areas without internet connectivity. It is designed to reduce the unnecessary use of pesticides and lower costs per hectare by applying growth regulators, herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides only where needed.
