Agua Caliente Band launches low‑price fuel station in Palm Springs

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians opened its second Agua Caliente Fuel station on Saturday in Palm Springs, California. Located at the corner of Dinah Shore Drive and Lawrence Crossley Road, the station offers regular unleaded at $5.13 per gallon, mid‑grade at $5.38, premium at $5.63 and diesel at $6.03, matching the city’s cheapest rates and undercutting the state’s average of $5.65.

Revenue from the tribal station goes directly to the tribe’s treasury, supporting public services, infrastructure projects and community programs. Because the tribe is a sovereign nation, fuel taxes are split between the federal government and California, with the state receiving little from the sales. The 9,500‑square‑foot facility also includes a convenience store and a 2,900‑square‑foot gaming area with 90 slot machines, expanding on the success of the tribe’s first location opened near its Rancho Mirage casino in 2021.
