Agua de Puebla implements environmental recycling and reforestation initiatives
Agua de Puebla has implemented several environmental and social initiatives aimed at protecting water resources and reducing waste. Since January, the company has collected 1,500 liters of used cooking oil through its 11 service branches. This oil is donated to the Centro de Atención Múltiple (CAM) Telpochcalli, where students use it to produce biodegradable artisanal soaps.
To prevent sewage system obstructions and overflows, the company is urging hotels, restaurants, and industrial centers to install and maintain grease traps. Such devices serve as essential pre-treatment systems to comply with water laws and prevent infrastructure damage.
Additional ecological efforts include the ‘Arbolitros 2026’ campaign, which resulted in the planting of 3,500 trees in strategic aquifer recharge zones such as La Malinche and Chignahuapan. The company also reported collecting 1,300 kilograms of plastic bottle caps, earning first place in the AMANC ‘Guerra de Tapitas’ for the second consecutive year, alongside the collection of 150 kilograms of recycled paper and 15 kilograms of batteries.
