Agua Dulce cattle farmers kidnapped twice in single incident

In the rural area of Agua Dulce, Mexico, a cattle-farming couple was kidnapped twice in a single incident. On September 14, armed individuals abducted the couple from the El Encanto community. Although the victims were initially released hours later—reportedly because the kidnappers had mistaken their targets—the assailants returned to the residence to kidnap them again.

During this second abduction, the husband was released, but his wife remains in captivity. Authorities indicate that the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of three million pesos for her release. The Specialized Unit for Combating Kidnapping and Extortion (UECS) is currently conducting operations in the area following this incident, which has heightened security concerns for local producers due to a recent rise in cattle theft and violence.
