Aguas de Saltillo reports stagnant water extraction despite new wells

Aguas de Saltillo (Agsal) reported a water extraction of 42.5 hectometers as of the end of August 2026. This figure remains similar to the levels recorded during the same period last year, despite recent infrastructure expansions.

According to Agsal General Manager Iván José Vicente García, the production volume has not reflected the growth in infrastructure announced by the company and the Municipality since 2025. Official data from the City Council indicates that seven new wells, including Praderas, Balcones, La Herradura, Paraíso 2, Paraíso 3, Lomas de Lourdes, and Carneros III, were put into operation to strengthen the supply under the 'Plan Antisequía'.

While the Municipality previously reported a 15% increase in potable water flow during 2025 and set a goal to reach a 25% increase this year, the current extraction data shows a stagnation in total volume compared to the previous year.
