El Marqués expands summer wellbeing courses to reach 1,000 children

The municipal government of El Marqués concluded the first phase of its "Vive el Verano 2026" summer program, which provided 40 hours of recreational, educational and preventive activities for 450 children from five local communities. Mayor Rodrigo Monsalvo Castelán highlighted the program’s focus on emotional wellbeing, self‑care, risk‑behaviour identification and healthy coexistence.

A second phase is scheduled for 10 – 21 August, aiming to serve roughly 1,000 children in total. The courses are organized by the Instituto Municipal para la Prevención y Atención de Conductas de Riesgo (Centro Vive) and involve psychologists, municipal civil‑protection, animal‑protection and public‑security agencies, which add sessions on risk prevention, animal respect and community safety.
