Aguascalientes Congress evaluates creation of 12th municipality

The Aguascalientes Congress has concluded a series of public forums to evaluate the feasibility of creating a twelfth municipality in the state. The proposal involves the territorial division of the current municipality of Asientos to establish Villa Juárez as a new municipality.

The consultation process, led by the United Commissions of Municipal Strengthening, Metropolitan Development and Conurbated Zones, and Governance and Constitutional Points, included participation from specialists, academics, and community representatives. The forums aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the proposal from legal, administrative, economic, territorial, social, cultural, and historical perspectives.
