Aguascalientes launches 100 low-emission buses for transit renewal

The government of Aguascalientes has launched a public transportation renewal project, beginning with the deployment of 100 low-emission buses. The new fleet, which benefits approximately 180,000 users, consists of 70 hybrid units and 30 natural gas-powered units. The investment for this initial phase totaled 280 million pesos.

Managed by the newly created State Mobility Agency, the new vehicles are equipped with modern amenities including free internet, mobile charging ports, video surveillance, GPS, and passenger counters. The deployment aims to reduce wait times on Route 50 and strengthen coverage on Routes 11, 18, and 45.

This initiative is part of a larger modernization plan expected to reach a total investment of 1 billion pesos by February 2027. The second phase of the project will include the addition of 48 electric buses, eight 18-meter articulated units, and 40 conventional units, alongside the construction of over 100 bus stops and a dedicated bus lane on the Tercer Anillo.
