Aguascalientes to host International Horse Fair 2026 with 1,500 horses
The Feria Internacional del Caballo Aguascalientes 2026 will be held from 7 to 16 August on the Isla San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico. More than 1,500 horses and over 500 riders from Mexico and about ten foreign countries—including the United States, Australia, Wales, England, Canada, Argentina, Chile and Spain—are slated to compete and exhibit.
The program features roughly 170 events, most of them free, such as charreadas, competitions, exhibitions, clinics and rodeo, alongside a commercial zone, food area, mechanical rides and a didactic farm. Three equestrian tracks and an arena will operate simultaneously, and medieval‑themed shows (“Fantasía Medieval” free and a ticketed “Espectáculo Medieval”) run from 11 to 16 August. State tourism secretary Mauricio González López highlighted the event’s role as the third pillar of economic development after the Feria Nacional de San Marcos and the Festival Cultural de las Calaveras, estimating attendance of 50 000‑80 000 visitors and an economic impact of about 150 million Mexican pesos.
