Aguascalientes ranks fifth in Mexico's grape production

The state of Aguascalientes, Mexico, has recorded an average annual harvest of 14,300 tonnes of grapes, placing it fifth among national producers, according to the Consejo de Viticultores de Aguascalientes. The main vineyards are located in Cosío, Pabellón de Arteaga and Rincón de Romos.

The Secretaría de Desarrollo Rural y Agroempresarial (Sedrae) is providing growers with certified vines, refrigeration units, packing machinery, irrigation systems and other equipment to boost both quantity and quality. Governor Tere Jiménez’s administration is highlighted for revitalising the sector, a point underscored by Sedrae secretary Isidoro Armendáriz, who called the recovery a source of pride for the state. Producer Rafael Galván Nava of the Refugio de Providencia community expressed satisfaction with the harvest, noting the tangible results of year‑long effort.
