Aguascalientes reports infrastructure, electoral, and security updates
Various administrative, infrastructure, and public safety developments are underway in Aguascalientes. Governor Tere Jiménez has launched the rehabilitation of the Los Negritos road, a project involving asphalt placement and sidewalk construction expected to benefit 2,000 residents by November.
In electoral matters, the State Electoral Institute (IEE) faces scrutiny after the State Electoral Tribunal (TEEA) ruled that the institute lacks the authority to mandate that municipal presidencies be exclusively for women. The IEE must now establish appropriate regulations and present its general budget by August 31.
Regarding public safety and mobility, the Municipal Secretary of Mobility has increased surveillance at the municipal parking lot following reports of auto part thefts. Authorities are utilizing advanced video technology and personnel rotation to secure the area, though the completion of a perimeter wall remains a pending necessity. Additionally, road closures are scheduled for August 14 due to an annual transport workers' pilgrimage.
