Democratic Party pledges support for Prabowo administration

During the 25th anniversary of the Democratic Party, Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) reaffirmed the party's commitment to supporting President Prabowo Subianto's administration. AHY emphasized that the party aims to be a reliable coalition partner, expressing loyalty to the current government while maintaining the party's core values.

President Prabowo Subianto attended the event and praised the Democratic Party for its wise political conduct, noting that the party has historically maintained decorum even when out of power. Prabowo also shared personal anecdotes regarding his military history with Democratic Party founder Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), highlighting their shared background as soldiers dedicated to the people.

However, AHY's political speech, which touched on themes of power limits, state neutrality, and the rule of law, has sparked speculation regarding the 2029 presidential election. While some political observers suggest the speech signals AHY's potential candidacy, party officials have denied such claims, asserting the party's primary focus remains supporting the current administration through 2029.
