Agustin Giay reaches 100 matches with Palmeiras

Argentine defender Agustin Giay has reached a milestone of 100 appearances for Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras. Since joining the club from San Lorenzo in June 2024, the 22-year-old has experienced significant professional growth and has earned a place in the Argentina national team.

Giay has recently contributed offensively, scoring three goals for the club, including two during a recent 4-1 victory against Corinthians in the Campeonato Brasileiro. His scoring record places him ahead of recent signing Alexander Barboza, though he remains behind long-standing defenders like Gustavo Gómez, who holds 48 goals for the institution, and Joaquín Piquerez, who has 17.

Looking ahead to the end of the season, Giay expressed his commitment to Palmeiras' pursuits in the Libertadores, Copa do Brasil, and Brasileirão. Despite his recent form, he will miss the upcoming match against Athletico-PR due to suspension.
