Agustín Canapino announces engine changes and 2027 team move
Agustín Canapino, the reigning Turismo Carretera champion, has appointed Próspero “Pope” Bonelli as his new engine builder for Canning Motorsport. Bonelli replaces Martín Costanzo, who cited a breakdown in communication as the reason for his departure. The new partnership begins immediately, with the first race scheduled for Río Cuarto, Córdoba, on the 14th and 15th. Bonelli will provide engines through the end of the 2026 season, though long-term continuity is not yet guaranteed.
Looking further ahead, Canapino has also secured a position with the PyP Sport team for the 2027 season. Based in Pergamino, Buenos Aires, the new squad, led by Christian Pereyra and Oscar Pettinari, will prepare a Chevrolet S10 for the TC Pick Up category. The team is currently working on the construction of their 22nd vehicle for the category.
