La Matanza: Neighbor kills thief in self-defense during carjacking attempt

A resident in San Justo, La Matanza, shot and killed a 20-year-old man who attempted to steal a vehicle from a neighbor. The incident occurred on Malabia Street when two suspects intercepted a driver. According to investigators, one of the assailants pointed a firearm at a bystander who attempted to intervene, prompting the resident to fire a revolver in self-defense of both himself and the third party.

The shooting, which was captured on security footage, resulted in the death of the suspect, identified as Lautaro Agustín Lencina. The second accomplice fled the scene on foot. Local authorities and prosecutors determined that the shooter acted in legitimate defense, and no restrictive measures have been taken against him.

In a separate incident in the same district, police arrested a 25-year-old man in Isidro Casanova for his alleged involvement in a violent home invasion in Laferrere. Authorities recovered weapons, ammunition, and the vehicle used during the robbery following a digital tracking operation.
