Agustín Álvarez joins Sporting Cristal on loan

Uruguayan midfielder Agustín Álvarez has arrived in Lima to join Sporting Cristal on loan until the end of the season, with an option to purchase. The player, who previously played for Montevideo City and has experience with Peñarol and Atlético Nacional, expressed his motivation to join the club due to its high-level squad and experienced coaching staff.

Despite his arrival, Sporting Cristal manager Roberto Mosquera has addressed why Álvarez has not yet made his official debut. Mosquera stated that he will not rush the player's integration, emphasizing that the midfielder needs to reach optimal physical condition and familiarize himself with the team's tactical systems and teammates. The coach noted that playing him prematurely could lead to failure, asserting that he has the personality to respect the necessary adaptation period for the new signing.
