Agustín Martegani revives career on loan at Independiente Medellín

Midfielder Agustín Martegani left Boca Juniors after a season with limited minutes and was loaned to Colombia's Independiente Medellín for 18 months, with an option to purchase for $1.8 million. Boca had originally signed him from San Lorenzo for $2.5 million on a contract running to December 2028, but he featured in only 13 official matches for the Argentine club.

In Medellín, Martegani quickly earned a starting role, playing four matches (three as a starter) and receiving praise from fans and the club’s official Instagram account for his “garra and heart.” Coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena, who arrived at Boca during the player’s stint, confirmed the loan was intended to give the midfielder regular playing time and free up space in the squad. The loan agreement includes a purchase option that could make the move permanent if his performance continues to impress.
