Ahang Mirshojae pleads not guilty in alleged murder-for-hire plot

Ahang Mirshojae, 54, of Calabasas, has pleaded not guilty to murder charges in connection with the August 2024 killing of her ex-husband, Dr. Hamid Mirshojae. The physician, known for treating high-profile clients in addiction medicine, was shot and killed in a parking lot in Woodland Hills.

Prosecutors allege the killing was part of a murder-for-hire plot. According to investigators, the alleged gunman, Evan Hardman, 42, claimed that Mirshojae initially paid him $20,000 in May 2024 to assault the doctor and steal two sentimental watches. When that attempt failed, she allegedly offered $400,000 to execute him.

Hardman is scheduled for arraignment following his arrest by an FBI fugitive task force in Texas. Both Mirshojae and Hardman have been held without bail since their arrests in December 2024. While murder charges against two other co-defendants were dismissed due to insufficient evidence, one individual, Sarallah Jawed, was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading no contest to assault and robbery related to the earlier May attack.
