Ahbap Association aid warehouse inspection reveals damaged supplies

An investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Ahbap Association has revealed a large inventory of humanitarian aid stored in the association's facility in Derince, Kocaeli.

Expert reports from the two large warehouses identified 895 unused 16-square-meter humanitarian tents, approximately 600 portable beds, and numerous sleeping bags. Other items found include 102 unused electric bicycles, 20 portable radios, wheelchairs, medical chairs, portable heaters, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, and water tanks.

A trustee committee reported on September 5 that some materials show signs of deformation and spoilage resulting from long-term storage and inadequate preservation conditions. Physical damage such as tearing and crushing was noted on some packaging, while white goods and durable consumer goods have begun to show surface damage and potential loss of quality.
