Şahinbey bakery closed for seven days after hygiene inspection
Municipal police in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep have ordered the seven-day closure of a bakery following routine hygiene inspections. During the audit, inspectors discovered cockroaches in production areas and near flour storage sacks.
Reports indicate that the business owner displayed a dismissive attitude toward the inspectors, reportedly stating, “What will happen from two insects?” The municipality also noted that the owner attempted to obstruct the officials from performing their duties.
Şahinbey Mayor Mehmet Tahmazoğlu emphasized that public health is a “red line” for the administration, stating that the municipality will continue to conduct rigorous inspections and will not allow the health of citizens to be compromised.
