Şahinde Ermiş opens second solo art exhibition in Zonguldak

Şahinde Ermiş, an 81-year-old self-taught painter, has opened her second solo art exhibition at the Zonguldak Fine Arts Gallery in Turkey. This event marks her return to solo exhibitions 20 years after her first in 2006.

Ermiş developed her skills without formal training, inspired by watching television programs, specifically the works of Bob Ross. Having raised four children alone after losing her husband 39 years ago, she has produced a total of 80 paintings to date. Her work primarily focuses on nature and architecture, including landscapes, water, trees, and old houses, though she noted she does not paint human figures.

The exhibition features 23 of her works and was attended by local officials, including Güney Hacıbektaşoğlu. The collection was open to the public from September 15 to September 17.
